Clean, affordable and practical stoves in Uganda

Job Harweg has successfully completed his internship project at the organization 'Raising Gabdho' in Uganda, focusing on automating cooking appliance production processes and improving their overall efficiency and usability.

3D printed prosthetics

Worldwide, only 5 to 15% of amputees have access to good medical care. The situation in the South is by far the worst. This project aims to give hospitals in those countries the means to 3D print prosthetics themselves. The prototype of the printer was developed in Eindhoven and in 2022, project leader Eric Vernooij tested it in Lombok, Indonesia. He faced issues ranging from higher ambient temperature and humidity interfering with the printing process to difficulties getting electronic components through customs.
